A running account of the "race without an entry fee"..... The Tuesday night ride

Tuesday the 25th

We're all wishing the best for Steve Suto and young Noah Levine.
They went down in a crash tonight (along with Peter Frenzilli) and both could not ride on... They had to be picked up. Pete was scraped up but could ride home.

Can we start a Kickstarter for Noah's replacement bike?
I am good for $50.
Anyone else???

I am good for $50 too. Spread the word if a Kickstarter campaign gets underway. Will he need a new bike or just new frame and new wheels? Or maybe just some serious repairs sans a new paint job - Calfee, perhaps?

Is there a page set up? If so what's the address? Any update as to how Steve and Noah are doing? Steve had a big bump on his head and was having trouble moving his shoulder. Please fill us in if anyone has any word.

Thanks,
Chris C.

Dudes,
Forget that I'll cover the damaged equipment and the med bills and time off work. Let me know

Hope those guys are okay. As far as the bike replacement, judging by the nice frame/wheels that he was riding (at his age) I doubt his dad getting him a new frame will be a problem that we need to help with.

Ed we know you only choose to help riders with $$$ but you are far off the mark with your obsversation. Wasn't Noah riding some piece of shit 15 year old metal trek just a couple months ago? Set up the page and I will donate. Everyone else pull their heads out of their asses.

I saw Noah today. He's banged up and awaiting an MRI on Tuesday to see if ligaments are torn. He is bummed about his month old bike as he did save up over some time for it. He is looking forward to getting back on a bike, pretty much any bike. I have a feeling he will going against doctor's orders with that.

There will not be any kickstarter campaign on his behalf.

Is there any word on Steve?

Lets try to keep the ride safe guys.

Ed, your way off base on this one. I don't know a lot about the kid, but from what I hear, he doesn't have the money to replace the frame and wheels. I would hate to see a kid that is just starting to get into this sport, stop riding because he cannot afford to replace his bike. There is not enough kids getting into the sport to begin with. We need to encourage the ones that show any kind of interest.

Does anyone have Steve's contact info or know how he is doing?

Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers with my comment guys. Stating the obvious but the most important thing is their health, and I/we appreciate the update on Noah Hunter. As far as Noah's bike replacement, and I read Hunter's comment that there will be no Kickstarter, I would have gladly donated if I knew a little more about his situation. I heard someone talking about how expensive his bike was and jokingly made that previous comment about his dad/parents buying another even better one for him. If someone started a donation site for my child, I might be a little insulted with assumptions made about my finacial situation but although the intention was/is good and all. As far as my helping only other with $$$, well that's true :-) Seriously, I'm usually good with giving rider's safety/riding tips, setting a good example, etc. I do coach a few people but only because i spend a lot of time with them and they seem to think it's valuable. Even then, I don't charge much and do it mostly for fun - not my main gig.

Thanks everyone for stopping and special thanks to Miguel and Monte for staying with us until we were picked up. Soft tissue injuries to my neck, shoulder and ligament damage to my thumb. Nothing broken and did not have a concussion. See you all soon.

Steve, glad you are ok. As far as the kickstart for Noah, is it not being done because nobody wants to do it? If so , I will look into it.
